History:

This is a complete original Talbot Lago Cabriolet from 1938 and is very rare and unique in this design for this period.

The coachbuilder was Figoni & Falashi

Because of WW II the Talbot Factory stopped making luxery cars. Thatsway there is only this unique T 150 Cabriolet 1938. After the war they start manufacturing again.

Later on in 1947 the Talbot Lago factory copied this design from 1938 into the new Talbot Lago T 23 Cabriolet.

Clement Talbot Ltd was founded in 1903 under the patronage of the Earl of Shrewsbury and Talbot to import the popular French Clement car into Britain. From 1905, Talbots were also produced in London and the marque was very successful in competition and sales in the years leading up to the Great War in 1914.

Talbot was taken over by the Paris based, but British controlled, Darracq company in 1919 and in 1920 this joint company amalgamated with the Sunbeam company to form STD Motors.

STD (Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq) combine collapsed in 1935. The French Talbot company has been reorganised by Anthony Lago a brilliant engineer and since then, the Talbot-Lago name was used. (At the same time, the British interests of Talbot were taken over by the Rootes Group and the parallel using of Talbot brand in France and Britain ended.)

Lago was an excellent engineer, who developed the existing six cylinder engine into a high performance 4 litre one. The sporting six cylinder models had a great racing history. The bodies - such as of T150 coup
